A TASTE OF THE PAST – APACHE LAND VILLAGE CAFE
The Apache Land Village Cafe was a local landmark for several decades, and many older residents will no doubt have fond memories of eating out there. Along with the adjoining Apache Land Shopping Center, the Cafe provided a colorful and welcoming spectacle on the corner of E Ash and S Hill Street, now the China Taste restaurant.
HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY – BOYCE THOMPSON ARBORETUM
Boyce Thompson Arboretum celebrates its 100th year as Arizona’s oldest and largest botanical garden. Jack Elam is without doubt Miami’s best known son. For over five decades he stalked our movie and TV screens as a Western stalwart and unforgettable bad guy. Jack appeared in over 200 movies and TV shows, with his last appearance being in the popular TV saga Lonesome Dove: The Series. (1994).
