JAMES JOSEPH DAVENPORT, JR

James Joseph Davenport, Jr. sadly passed away on April 10th, 2024, at Cobre Vallery Regional Medical Center in Globe, Arizona. He was born on August 2nd, 1969, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to James Joseph Davenport, Sr. and Judy Zupancic of Globe.

James worked as an electrician and mechancic before finding his niche as a general handyman. He was a friendly and familiar face around Globe, attending to property repairs and yardwork with his business partner George Ray Ratliff. He was a generous and kindhearted man, who readily helped others. James had many hobbies, including watching Nascar, and visiting with his friends and family.

He was a regular visitor to the home of his aunt Cathy Colter, who remembers him fondly. “James was a good guy, always helping me out and making sure I had what I needed. He also loved all animals, and once even tried to catch a baby Javelina in my yard to take home. I will miss him dearly.”

James was most at home outdoors though, whether off hunting in the Pinal Mountains or casting a hook out at Roosevelt Lake.

James is survived by his sisters Kathy (Paul) Esponilla of Phoenix, Arizona and Kelly Davenport of Globe, Arizona. Three nephews, two great-nephews, one great-niece and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles that will miss him dearly.

He will not be alone in Glory though, joining his late parents James Sr. and Judy Davenport, and his grandmother Josie VanBeber.

In keeping with James’ last wish, his family will be taking a special roadtrip.
